An educator for over ten years and current Osborn School Board President, Katie Paetz is committed to serving students and families by elevating educator voices. Her work as a teacher gives her insight into how policy plays out in the classroom—and which approaches enable all kids to learn.
During Katie’s time on the board, Osborn School District has passed fully inclusive policy that protect families and students, reopened Montecito campus with dual language preschool, and won the Governor’s Arts Award for music and art programs.
As President, Katie led the board through its first successful search and hire process for a new superintendent. Her experiences in policymaking and in the classroom help her realize the Osborn communities values of inclusion, excellent opportunities for students, and learning-environments that encourage students to succeed.
Katie will continue to support the work of Osborn educators who serve families and students experiencing adversity. She will continue advocating for science-based educational approaches that incorporate up-to-date knowledge about how stress and trauma affect our children’s developing brains—approaches that help all kids learn.
