Dr. Eric Knost, Superintendent

Rockwood School District

Rockwood Superintendent Dr. Eric Knost keeps the district focused on unity, excellence and relationships.  He was recently cited in the St. Louis-Dispatch as a "Top Confidence-Boosting Leader" for 2015.  Rockwood lauded their Superintendent for being an effective communicator who is positive and clear about his goals for the district.

The Superintendent is guided by the district's five goal areas to deliver on the Rockwood promise to ensure all students realize their potential: Student Learning, Highly Effective Staff, School Climate, District Finance and Governance.  This road map drives Rockwood initiatives and accountability at all levels.

Before joining Rockwood in July 2014, Dr. Knost served as superintendent for the Mehlville School District. However, he comes back to Rockwood where he served during his early years as an educator and leader. As an administrative intern and band director from 1989-1997, Dr. Knost shared his expertise at a variety of Rockwood schools, including Lafayette and Marquette High Schools, Crestview and Selvidge Middle Schools, plus Babler, Ballwin, Ellisville, Pond, Geggie, Westridge and Woerther Elementary Schools.

"It is my sincere desire to lead the Rockwood School District in a way  that will further solidify a community partnership and unite us in our mission to help all kids thrive in this world."
