Brian Seymour, Director of Instructional Technology, Pickerington Local School District
Brian Seymour is the Director of Instructional Technology for Pickerington Local School District, and a former high school science teacher and former curriculum coordinator. Brian is currently leading Pickerington Schools through One2One process in which PLSD elementary schools will have access to iPads and students grades 5-12 will have access to Chromebooks.Brian is also leading the district through a change in pedagogy to adopt a brand of blended learned they have termed “Tradigital Learning.”
Brian has a Bachelor’s in Science and Education from Bowling Green State University, a Master’s Degree in Geosciences from Mississippi State University, a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership from Ashland University and his Superintendent License from The Ohio State University.
Brian is the 2017 ITIP Ohio (Ohio’s ISTE Affiliate) Outstanding Technology Using Administrator of the Year. Brian was also named the Ohio recipient of the Making It Happen Award for 2017. Brian was named one of the Connected Educators of 2014 by Battelle for Kids and was one of the finalists for the Technology Leadership award from ISTE in 2016. Brian is a member of the White House’s CSforAll steering committee. Brian has also been named one of the ISTE Community Champions in assisting schools to integrate more technology into the classroom. Brian has delivered 1000s of hours of professional development including sessions at the Harvard School of Education, ISTE National Conference and the annual Ohio Educational Technology Conference.
Brian has earned the Google Level 1 and 2 Certified Educator status as well as his Apple Teacher awards. He was also one of the first Amazon Educator-Teacher Innovators.
